"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

This Wednesday, November 11th, is a day to thank and remember those who have and are serving and protecting this beautiful country. The first official Veteran’s Day was November 11, 1926 but didn’t become an official holiday until legislation approved on June 1, 1954. Let’s make sure we celebrate this honorable day.

Savannah is going to start off this celebratory day with ceremonies at 10:30am at Bull and Broughton. Following these ceremonies is a family fun parade throughout Savannah. The parade route is traveling from Gwinnett Street to Abercorn. Continuing from Abercorn it leads to Liberty Street then after a few more turns ends at East Broad Street. Remember to arrive early along the route to get a good spot for all to see. Dogs and children are more than welcomed for all Veteran’s Day activities found throughout the city.

For the families of Veterans, treat your brave service men to an amazing Segway or Electric Bike tour. Adventure Tours in Motion on Wednesday is offering all service men, veterans and active duty military 50% off a historic tour. As a military based city, Savannah offers many stories and sights for the whole family. Kids will love the fun of the fast paced electric bikes while the adults will enjoy touring the city on a Segway! Make sure to shake the hand of a service man on this commemorative day and say thank you for their risk and sacrifice. From the staff of Adventure Tours in Motion to all service men, Thank You and May God Bless You!
